Senior Backend Engineer (Philippines)

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with Golang experience, to join our client, a well-funded payments startup enabling businesses across APAC.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategize and create robust APIs and tools to fulfill customer needs

• Architecting product and core infrastructure while considering the long-term reliability, scalability, and security

• Manage and works closely with teams within the company to deliver product or technical roadmap successfully, from inception to testing and operating in production

• Create maintainable, testable code of a high quality

• Identify improvements to the team’s processes, best practices and codebases

• Mentor engineers to advance in their technical careers

Qualification and Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience developing and shipping production-grade software

• Working experience with backend programming languages such as Golang and Laravel is a must

• Working experience with unit, and E2E test frameworks

• Working experience with SQL or NoSQL databases (schema design and query optimization)

• Working experience in instrumenting, tracing, monitoring system for ensuring the quality of products using tools such as Jaeger/Datadog, and etc.

• Working experience with FinTech/B2B startups, microservices is a plus

• Knowledgeable of REST and pub/sub design patterns

• Familiar with software engineering development cycles such as Agile/Scrum

• Knowledge in AWS gRPC and containerization is a plus

The ideal candidate must have Golang experience, with microservices experience a plus. Being from a eCommerce/Insurance/Financial Services/Fintech background would be ideal.
