SOC Manager (Cyber Security)

We are looking for a SOC Manager for our client, a global technology and engineering company. The SOC Manager will lead all operations, ensuring the cybersecurity situational awareness of the company and respond to incidents effectively to minimise impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Directs all management of security, disaster recovery

• Lead multiple teams through a security incidents, including following up with post-mortem.

• Improve SOC operational processes.

• Improve operational effectiveness through refining workflows.

• Ensure that the SOC is adequately equipped to be successful on a daily basis.

• Handle roadblocks that may affect security monitoring operations, infrastructure and/or SLA’s

• Identify and manage chronic operational and security issues

• Manage a team of analysts, documenting and tracking training requirements.

• Stay current with security principles, defenses, vulnerabilities, intruder techniques, root cause and incident analysis

• Follows through with service improvement opportunities raised at review meetings with cross functional teams.

• Interface between the stakeholders and SOC for escalations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Communication skills at technical and business level.

• Working knowledge of information security and information systems – both at the conceptual and operational level.

• Experience working in a SOC or a managed security service provider will be an advantage.

• Familiarity with delivery mechanisms of managed security services will be an advantage.

• Able to work independently as well as a team player in an unstructured environment.

• Proactive, flexible attitude to work with a willingness to constantly review and improve skills and process.

• Experience in hands-on project management and stakeholder management.

• CISSP, CISM will be a plus.

• IT related Diploma or Degree
